Inkjunkys artist profiles

Mel D. owner of Inkjunkys has been tattooing for almost 20 years and cannot imagine doing anything else with his life. He currently works several conventions across the country & has won over 40 national & international awards. He has been published multiple times in almost every major tattoo magazine including International Tattoo Art, Skin Art Magazine, Tattoos for Men, Tattoos for Women, Savage, Pain, & Crave Magazine. He likes his machines custom & his pieces large. When asked what his favorite tattoo is to do, his reply: "I like anything that challenges me. I don't want to be known as only this kind of artist or that kind. I want to be known as a great artist." His work on lollie has been featured on three magazine covers within the last year. Mel is also the host to Arkansas's INKSPLOSION! Tattoo Convention, Arkansas' first ever tattoo convention. Inksplosion was held March 23-25, 2007 & was a raging success. Planning for Inksplosion 2008 {March 14-16, 2008} is already underway with more artists, more entertainment & more room!

lollie was apprenticed by Mel D. as a piercer and tattoo artist & has been with Inkjunkys for almost four years & Is hostess of Inksplosion! Her tattoos, piercings & permanent cosmetics have been published in Savage & Crave Magazines. She was published in Pain, June 2006, Rants & Raves Column, requesting artists to take responsibility for educating their communities. She presents her program, Modification Education to the general public. The 90-minute program teaches people how to find a qualified studio & artist to suit their modification needs as well as informing them of the dangers of poorly done mods both in studios & out of homes. Her mod ed program was published in Gothic Beauty Issue #23, 2007 as well. She has also been the featured artist on www.inkednation.com {April 17, 2007}. This busy lady has graced the cover of three magazines: Skin Deep {8/06}, International Tattoo Art {1/07} & Prick Magazine {9/07} as well as the Tattoo Magazine outsert, "Pretty in Ink." lollie also has her own modeling group, blackheart13, www.bh13.org.
